What is the YFS Journalism & Media Team?

Youth Football Scotland is an award winning not-for-profit social enterprise, which was founded in 2010. The YFS Journalism & Media Team is a unique training programme, that provides opportunities for aspiring sports media professionals. The programme offers media enthusiasts of all ages and abilities the chance to build their portfolio whilst providing coverage the makes a genuine difference to sport at grassroots level. It's win-win.

What types of media do you offer?

The short answer, is almost any! YFS is a platform for anybody with a positive idea to have their work showcased. However, our most popular roles are:

Match Reporter | Camera Operator (match filming and creative options) | Photographer | Video Editor | Article Writer | Presenter (TV or radio) | Graphic Designer | Multimedia Journalist

I'm not in Scotland right now, can I participate?

YFS offers placements and internships for students from around the world at our HQ in Edinburgh. We have welcomed aspiring media professionals from China, France, Germany, Japan, Romania, Spain and USA so far.

Where can this training programme lead to?

As you can see, the programme is directly linked to YFS Media. We are delighted to offer a wide range of paid work opportunities to YFS Journalism & Media Team graduates on a weekly basis.
